Autumn

I love the Midwest for many reasons. But most importantly because we get to witness the changing of the seasons. The Autumn happens to be my favorite time of year, especially as I have grown older. I love the vibrant colors, the crunchy sound the leaves make when you walk over them, the crisp evening air, and the smell of the breeze. I love the sound of silence that the Autumn brings too. I imagine if I were in Iraq these would be some of the things I would miss considerably.

Nate and Helena sent a special Autumn treat to Tim that I am sure the guys will get a kick out of. I decided to take some pictures for them that may bring a little Halloween their way. We are all excited for the big day tomorrow…although no costume decisions have been made yet.

It is clear to me that the guys in Iraq have no concept of holidays, or for that matter the day of the week. I mentioned to Tim that the kids were excited to trick or treat and it surprised him so much you would have thought we were still in the summer season. He seems very tired to me.

  1. Tiffany is right, I am very tired and have forgotten about Halloween and that we even have holidays. We worked through Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day and now Halloween. The only reason I know it’s a holiday or the weekend - is that no one answers my email on those days.

    Oh well.

  4. LOVE seeing those little ones. Gage’s face seems more round…maybe he is getting some meat on those bones.

    You must put Halloween costume pictures up as soon as possible….love to all and hugs and kisses to you Tim. I continue to pray for you and your men.

  5. Finally got to view the videos. The girls are funny and very cute wrestling! Emmy is a brute and a chomper. She loves rough-house. I love how Campbell says…”no.”

    Gage and the light sabers…the boy has star wars on the brain.

    I really miss you guys! Kiss all those babies for me. I love you!
