Earshot

We have truly given new meaning to the phrase “within earshot” at the Stoner household.

As I was dressing Gage, he told me he had to use the potty. Apparently, it was more urgent than I realized because the next thing I knew Emerson, who was sifting through a box right next to me, was shot right in the ear with a stream of pee. The poor girl was so confused as to how she was covered in warm fluid.

I heard myself yelling “OH MY GOSH, QUIT PEEING ON YOUR SISTER!” I watched Gage make a run for the toilet and we all began to laugh. Then Briggs said, “Now that would have won America’s Funniest Home Videos!”

So everytime I hear someone say they are within ‘earshot’ I will think not even close!

P.S. Emerson was bathed soon after.

Special thanks to…Kirk Beckham for taking Briggs on a hike through the woods and pointing out animal tracks along the way. The Hackleman Family for having Briggs over night. He really enjoyed making the beaded crafts and hanging out with the girls. Susan and Stewart Parker for arranging a stuffed animal collection in their neighborhood outside of St. Louis. Apparently, they shipped over 35 lbs. of stuffed animals to Tim in Iraq. The Swift-Moser wedding guests that were so kind and supportive. Shelly Savage for the kid-friendly dinner. Mark Hyten for replacing our garbage disposal. Becky Zimpfer for taking Gage to/from school. My mom for watching the girls Saturday night. Sara for holding down the fort.

I wonder if Gage was secretly laughing, just before he pulled the trigger?
