Roughin’ it
Today was a rough day…we can have those every now and then, right? It is just such a disappointment when they come after a really great day.
The boys and I drove to Nashville, Tennessee to visit Tim’s brother, Mark, and his family. We camped out on the most beautiful Tennessee farm that has been in my sister-in-law’s family for decades. We were blessed with perfect camping weather and wonderful people to share it with.
I wish I could display the images but the boys got the best of me today and my memory card was thrown out of my camera. Despite retracing our steps numerous times, we did not find it. No more details necessary. It still has me terribly upset.
I photographed some gorgeous images. And, of course, I took the Daddy Doll everywhere…on the hay rides, to the bonfire, in the pastures, in the hollow of a tree, etc. These memories will have to remain etched into my mind.
I realize now that I am trying to compensate for Tim not being here by doing special things with my kids. But…A) it puts more stress on me and B) they would rather have their dad home.
There is nothing I can do to fill the void of a missing father. Frankly, it is a void for all of us and one we have to continue to endure for a lot longer.
…
Special thanks to…Mark and Terry (and her wonderful family) for such a fantastic day. I have never seen the boys that worn out. John and Robertine for staying behind with the girls. Beth Hohman for being a jack of all trades and great friend. The Harmon’s for the little bike for Gage. Heather for her patience and quiet nature. Susan Hyten for a grocery run. Nate for taking Gage to the museum on his birthday.
Hang in there. You are making the best out of a very tough situation. Continue to focus on the positive and you will get through this.
Stay Gold.

Hang in there. You are doing an amazing job–don’t beat yourself up over a bad day. We ALL have bad days, even in the best of situations–and that’s hardly what you’re in.
Today I was getting a little worn out and exasperated chasing the girls at the Children’s Museum. And I only have two. I thought (guiltily) of you and am so impressed that you and the kids even leave the house!
I think of you (and pray for your sanity) everyday
Ann - October 16th, 2007 at 12:07 amTiffany, sorry to hear about your frustrations with the picture. We really enjoyed your visit. I hope you had fun, I’ll never forget Gage, the “light savers” and his Darth Vader mask. I’m glad we got to put the heat on them for a few days.
