24×7

Tim’s unit has been running operations 24×7 for awhile now during the evaluation phase of their mobilization. Apparently, there is some outsourced organization that evaluates the readiness of aviation units preparing to deploy.  From what Tim reports, their evaluation is going well.

So, they run operations as they intend to in Iraq. When their shifts begin they run up the aircraft so that once a ‘military 911′ call comes in they can respond within the required timeframe. They are given grid coordinates to the location of the ‘injured soldiers’ and complete their mission.

He is working both night and late-day shifts so his schedule is a little wacky. I am hopeful he will leave a post soon. We are very excited to see him for a visit home next week before they leave for Iraq.

Special thanks to…Chuck Stevens for taking the boys to the park and Jimmy Johns. My Uncle Tom and Aunt Kathy for sending their eldest daughter Mina to help me for the week. Suzy for her consistent phone calls.  Beth Davis and Cyndi Troyer for a great lunch and playdate today.
