He’s here…
Wednesday, July 25th, 2007
Tim is home…what a great feeling…for him and us! I took all of the kids to meet him at the airport. He was in shock. The kids were wild with excitement. When he mobilized…Campbell had little hair, few teeth, and had just started to crawl. She is now walking! Emerson hadn’t [...]

Happy Anniversary to my Partner! Eleven years ago we had a fabulous Chicago wedding. There isn’t anything we would have done differently. It was perfect. We even surprised our guests by dancing the Tango.
I was thinking how incomprehensible it probably would have been for me to consider loving anyone as deeply as Tim [...]

I like to continuously add to my list of “Good Things”..well, somehow we collected our fair share of ‘toothpick American Flags’ around the Fourth of July. Actually, they have come in quite handy when Briggs is playing Army Men. In any case, he grew very concerned when one of the flags touched the [...]

Since we deployed, training has been everyday; 7 days-per-week. However, a couple of weeks ago we also added 24-hour operations. We needed to complete more Aviation training that is geared to test our collective skills (pilot, crew chief, flight medic, maintenance, operations, communications, etc.). From the collective training, we immediately moved into [...]

24×7
Monday, July 16th, 2007
Tim’s unit has been running operations 24×7 for awhile now during the evaluation phase of their mobilization. Apparently, there is some outsourced organization that evaluates the readiness of aviation units preparing to deploy. From what Tim reports, their evaluation is going well.
So, they run operations as they intend to in Iraq. When their [...]

So, I got a babysitter and went for a run once the twins were in bed tonight. Great idea! The weather was perfect. Typically, I have a playlist I use but I am growing tired of “Vogue”, “She Bangs” and “SexyBack” (by the way, don’t judge me on my taste in music…these songs [...]

Have you ever heard the sound of a gut-wrenching scream? Today I heard myself scream with such fear that it was almost as if I was watching myself.
I took the kids to the park this morning with several neighbors. It is a gorgeous day…perfect temperature, a gorgeous blue sky, and and the kind [...]

MAJOR Stoner
Tuesday, July 10th, 2007
Finally after months of paperwork and military red tape…Tim was promoted to Major Stoner!!!!!!!!! I am so proud of him. He is a true leader, and extremely loyal to his men.
Now…if you are laughing…you aren’t the first. I imagine most will have to hold back a chuckle every time they address him as Major Stoner.
Congratulations, [...]

It is a lucky day…07.07.07.
It is also a very special day because our girls are turning one year old! It is past midnight so I can officially wish them a happy birthday.
This birthday celebration, while very simple in nature, brings with it some emotion. First of all, Tim is absent. I feel [...]

4th of July
Thursday, July 5th, 2007
We had a great 4th of July celebration at Nate and Helena’s last night. Gage climbed his first tree…well got hoisted up his first tree at least. He had NO fear!
Tim and his unit were able to have a day of rest and celebrated with a cookout behind the barracks.

Special thanks to…Stacy (one [...]

This is a post I have been organizing in my mind for weeks now. It keeps me occupied while I run. I started contemplating the reasons why Tim and I work. Let’s be honest, with four kids seven and under, romance is not the key reason.
We just work.
As I begin to feel [...]

We received the third stage of the Anthrax immunization this week, but experienced no major side-effects. Although we cannot fly directly after the immunization, we have plenty of other classes to keep us busy.
We are flying every day and night - as we continue to ramp-up and build proficiency.
Take care,
Tim

One of my best friends recently sent this to me and I really like it. It is written by a Chaplain in Iraq.
I recently attended a showing of “Superman 3″ here at LSA Anaconda. We have a large auditorium we use for movies as well as memorial services and other large [...]
