Scorpions, tarantulas and snakes, oh my…

We just returned from the Forward Operating Base and Tiffany’s correct, we found several (5) scorpions outside and inside the tents. We also caught a snake - near the water tank. Among other creatures, we saw three tarantulas and a horny toad. The FOB is abundant with life - as it sits nestled in the Oklahoma plains.

The FOB simulates life “in-theatre.” Its part of the immersion training that the soldiers go through. The FOB was the final event of our “Green training,” which represents ground training, or individual soldier skills. We are now entering “Blue training” which is aviation training. Blue training is where we are validated on our aviation skills and capabilities.

Everyone is looking forward to the Blue phase, because this is what we are trained to do.

The morale is already climbing :)

Take care,

Tim
