It takes a village…

I think when a husband/father deploys it actually does take a village. I am not sure who coined the phrase…I am thinking it may have been Hilary Clinton. But none of you Hilary-bashers send me any nastygrams. I am not sure if she said it or not. I should google it later. I like it though.

I believe we have finally settled into this ‘deployment thing’….we are in a rhythm. But I absolutely would not be where I am right now emotionally or logistically without the support of my family, neighbors, and friends.

They continue to bless us with their company, calls, assistance, etc.

Randy Julian and his son, Brandon, delivered and setup a trampoline for us this weekend. This was no small effort. Fortunately, they do this twice a year with their own trampoline. Nonetheless, it was so genuinely nice of them to spend several hours in the hot sun. By the way…total hit! All of the kids love it. It is serving as a great playpen for the girls too. Images soon to come.

Tim’s associate, Syed, and his lovely wife, Izra took the boys on Saturday.

More food from friends Tracy, Susan, Sheryl, and Beth.

Fun playdate with Beth Davis, an acquaintance from college. She is still as beautiful with a huge heart.

And a special thanks to Helena and Nate who consistently keep me company a few evenings a week. Even after working a long day, Helena will pick up dinner on the way home to share. She is the best sister-in-law I could ever have.

I would encourage anyone who has a neighbor or friend with a deployed husband to just do something kind for that person…it is really the simple stuff that goes such a long way.
