The Good Things

I have decided that throughout this deployment I will highlight the Good Things. It will keep me positive, and most importantly grateful for all that I have.

So…the first “Good Thing” to report is my boys. I was preparing myself for considerable behavior issues before Tim left. But, in general, they have done quite well. They are really good boys. In fact, Tim’s absence is making them grow closer…and that is a Good Thing!

So some examples…1) Briggs washed Gage in the bath tonight without any prompting. 2) They are saying “I love you” to each other before bed which I don’t recall hearing before. And, Gage is even telling me now that Briggs loves him. 3) They wrestle with each other at night just like Tim usually does with them. 4) Briggs used his own money to buy Gage a treat from the ice cream truck (and by the way, this truck is hovering over this neighborhood). 5) While eating apple slices in my bed tonight, their little heads were touching.

I could also tell you about incidents that haven’t been as pleasant between the two of them but it isn’t even worth remembering. I will remember the apple slices instead.

By the way, I took the boys to see Shrek 3 this weekend. My neighbors offered to watch the girls…so it was just the three of us.  We had a great time!

  3. That’s a great way to look at things. Don’t sweat the small stuff. It’s the apple moments that count in the end! Love you both! Stay Gold!
