Tie a yellow ribbon…
We are so blessed to live amongst neighbors (that are amazing friends). We were overwhelmed last Sunday when we went for a walk at 7pm and yellow ribbons were being hung by several neighbors. And…not just a few yellow ribbons…the trees in the neighborhood and lampposts are covered. It really is a beautiful site. I took several images above in our yard.
I couldn’t even contain my emotions. It solidified the fact that we live in ‘Pleasantville’…a term I coined a few years back. Tim was equally emotional about the sight of the ribbons as well.
A special thanks to the following families for helping coordinate the effort: Chelovitz, Hohman, Zimpfer, Hyten, Petersen, McBride, Twitchell, Byrun, Schumacher, Alcock, Gardner, Cramer, Martin, and Blackburn.
Respectfully, Tiffany
Tiffany,
I was in awe of the ribbons as I drove out of the neighborhood on the morning of Monday, May 7 to Columbus. I love your neighbors! I felt so much better after meeting many of the families and ladies of the neighborhood at the going away party–as I KNEW you were going to be in good hands. I find it so difficult to live this far away right now. However, again, after meeting the many of those folks in your Austin Oaks circle of friends–I felt comforted.
Love,
